Cucumbers and peppers

I've just moved into a house with a greenhouse. I've grown cucumbers and peppers for the first time this year. Do I need to top the tops of the plants like you would do with tomatoes?
Should I also be removing the male flowers of the cucumbers? I've seen conflicting reports online.
