What berry is this? Please help!

what berry is this? I initially thought gooseberry but they are quite small and no thorns on bush! There are hundreds in the garden so would be nice to know if they are edible? thank you For your help!

    They are a Ribes, currant of some sort. If they are scattered round the garden rather than arranged as a fruit garden they could be Ribes sanguinea, Flowering Currant, an ornamental shrub. They will be edible in that they won't be poisonous but not really a fruit crop

    Definitely ribes. They look a lot like my blackcurrants do at the moment. If they are blackcurrants, they will ripen in the next month or so, so I would leave them to see if they are edible variety before you chop them. Blackcurrants are good for pies and jam and freeze well for adding to porridge in winter.

    Jostaberry? cross between a blackcurrant and a gooseberry, I would leave it to see what they are before ripping them out.
