Hi
Anyone able to allay my worst fears and tell me that these aren't himalayan balsam. They have sprung up very quickly at the side of my pond and I didn't put them there!

There is a foliar resemblance , I cannot see the stems on your picture , HB often has a reddish coloration in these . If in doubt , let it flower and if it proves to be the unmentionable , pull it out quickly before seed sets .
