My only question if it's to do with watering is why is it only really the patch that's by the fence that's drying out it's getting as much eater as the rest
Is it the top picture where it is extra brown? Also, please give a quick run down of the steps you took before laying the turf down. Contact between base soil and your turf is important. The soil needs to be very damp, especially right now when temperatures are so high.
After giving it a rake and spiking, you need to then tread on the soil lightly to make sure no air pockets are in place. All this needs to be done before the turf is laid.
I laid new topsoil down and trod it all in then light raked it before laying the turf it was all lovely green when it layed but it seem to be getting worse
OK, when you put the turf in, did you tamp down on each square? Treehugger80 is right, there does seem to be some slight raised sections on the squares. If you have new topsoil, it doesn't hurt to pour excess into the drying gaps, but make sure it is very fine. Push it into the gaps and water really well.
You have to water every day now and for quite a long time in the evenings or early mornings. I doubt many perfect lawns will be looking great these last few days. It is very hot and quite unrealistic to have high expectations straight away.
Thanks for all the info guys, after plenty of watering and with the recent rain I'm happy to say it's all coming back lush and green it's not going to be long before it needs a small trim

did you make sure the new turf was in good contact with the soil below when you laid it?
I noticed some lumps and bumps that might be causing air pockets underneath which would let it dry out

How deep did you put the pipe DR? I asked a plumber years ago when I thought of doing this and he said 18 inches min. I'm in Scotland.
