Pests eating my tomatoes!

Hello,

As soon as they turn red, my tomatoes are attacked and eaten. They start with pinholes, then I find huge chunks, crawling with ants. Today, I found gray slugs on them along with ants. I've tried Bonide Tomato & Vegetable Ready to Use to no avail.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!image

    Where are you tomatoes growing?

I've had the same when growing toms outdoors and it's only the lower fruits that are munched.

I had a theory that it may me mice that cause the initial damage then the slugs move in. If not then it's probably slugs

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

Yep, it's the lowest pieces of fruit. I initially thought it was my chipmunks, so I sprayed Critter Ridder around the area, then I saw the ants and slugs. And the pinholes. I'll see what happens with the higher-growing fruit.

    Thanks.

Better Boy, Better Bush, Atkinson. All three getting attacked. Because the tops of some have small holes, I'm assuming it's not just holes being started by chipmunks, then attacked by pests. I think it's both eating the plants independently.

Chipmunks? I'm guessing you are in North America somewhere, in which case, it could be a multitude of other candidates. image
