If you take the flowers off, you may get a slightly bigger plant next year. If it were me, I'd enjoy the flowers
Either way so long as the conditions are good, your plant will be happy

I don't think you need to nip them off. Enjoy them and snip them off when they're just opened and bring them in for drying. You may get a second flush if you do this.

Thanks everyone I've got a few of them so I'll try it with each see what plant turns out better. I got a lavender plant from garden centre last year its flowering but it's white and green with tiny purple flowers rather than the full purple it was last year image

Do you mean the last year's Lavender? If so, it sounds like another variety of Lavender. Possibly the French Lavender types. Sometimes called Stoechas. These Lavenders are usually less hardy and need some protection in winter but have quite a range of colours within one stalk. Without seeing a picture, it's hard to say if you are describing those ones.

Yes last years lavender,  I did post a picture but doesn't seem to be working. It is a French lavender but it was a lot more purple last year But it's mostly white and green this year for whatever reason, it's in a pot as the conditions aren't ideal for lavender in my garden.

I think a picture might help. If you have the name of this Lavender it could help too. I think it has nothing to do with what you have done. Personally, I have seen (not Lavenders) a lot of plants changing colours the next season. I can only say that the issue is the stock of where you bought it from. More and more fancy crosses have produced some inconsistent results. I'm not a fan of buying bi-colours or plants that have about three colours. More often than not, it's too good to be true.

Finally! It works ? I can't really find a picture of it from the year before it the ears wher purple and the full head was also purple. I got it from dobbies, it was on sale and was looking great so I thought why not. I can't remember the name of it, as the tag fell off it.

    Thanks for your help

This definitely looks like the French Lavender, but not sure which one. Just wait a bit to see what happens throughout the next month. It's possible the purple may return on the top sections. The main part, you can see it is about to open, so the purple will return there since they are not fully opened yet.
