Totally agree with you, Dove. I have a few of those Centranthus ruber in my mixed borders and never allow them to take over. Not a single plant is allowed in my garden without my permission, anyway. Well, I'll admit that some weeds do manage to grow in my lawn, but I try to keep control. I recently took part in an "open garden" event and wanted to demonstrate to the visitors my favourite tool, theSpear and Jackson weeding knife, We tried in vain to spot a dandelion for the demo---there were none in sight.
