Hi all,
Could someone identify this shrub please?
A couple of weeks ago it was covered in tiny white/silver flowers, upon close inspection now it seems they have changed to a red colour?
When would be a good time to give it a trim?
Thanks.
It's an escallionia.
Now's the time to prune/trim. It's quite a small leaved one so it should be easy to keep neat and tidy.
i think it's a cotoneaster
I'm rubbish at scale. I'll be shutting up now.
Cotoneaster ; don't trim too deeply or you may lose any display of berries later on .
i like to see shrubs growing in a more natural shape rather than being given a shave all round and making a blob
I'll second that!!
The red things might be berries
Cotoneaster, the hover bees love it. Don't trim unless you have to the berries are very pretty.

the red things will be berries if they're not chopped off
