magnolia stellata

Hi,

The top 18 inches of my 15 year old magnolia stellata appears to have died. The rest of the plant seems very healthy and flowered well.

The dead area has buds that did not flower and one small branch of dead leaves.

I would be delighted with any advice especially with whether I should cut away the dead section.

Thanks Lin.

A photo would help us come up with some suggestions Lin

It may be a viral or fungal problem, about which I know little.
I'm sure someone who does know will offer advice soon.

    Thanks Pete,

I have done my best to photo the top of the plant and would be pleased to know what you think....Lin.

I don't know Lin. If I were in your position, I'd be asking the same question.
There are plenty of folk here who know about such things - I'm sure you'll get your answer here soon.
