Lemon tree problems

So my lemon tree is about to flower,loads of buds ready to open up. However today i noticed something has eaten a lot of the unopened flowers? i had a quick check ofthe plant and couldnt see anything other that a few spiders. Any idea whats causing this and ways to prevent it?
