oh I know, why oh why do I love the same plants as all the flipping slugs and snails?!!! going to wage war big time this year, nematodes, beer traps friendlier pellets in moderation, torchlit boiling water baths...

Would  anybody have any Astrantia seeds going spare?

Novice grower and fairly new to forum, feel sure I will have seeds to exchange later on in the season.

    Many thanks in advance.

i have some, not loads, but they're what I collected form my own last year, unsure they'd do much, think you're supposed tpo sow astrantia fresh, but if you want to try you're welcome

Sandra, like Rosemummy I've got some from last year - loads of 'Shaggy' that you could try if you want (may not germinate though).

Hopefully this year I'll have lots more of a few other varieties.

    Andy and Rosemummy

Many thanks for the offer.  My OH has kindly bought me a couple of plants, so I'm okay for now.

Wish I could get out and do some planting, but it's persisting down here, and looks like it's set for the day!

    persisting here as well image

Sow the seed from your new plants when it's ripe. Outside. then you'll have lots more

I saw Carol Klein puttin seed trays next to her plants, I tried it but as I only have a copule of plants in different places it didn't work for me, though am going to try again!

I collect mine and sow in pots of gritty compost rather than trays, more depth and less space taken up.

Come winter there are rows of this and that standing outside the GH
