We're enjoying it while we can before the builders move in next door.  If anyone has no use for a few million quid, I could turn it into a nature reserve.

I feel your pain. I seem to spend half my life putting in planning objections, all to no or little avail. I appreciate the need for housing, but the loaction is alway driven by profit rather than what is appropriate

@Jellyfire lucky you, envious doesn't describe how I'm feeling right now.

And you too @fidgetbones would love to have the same in my garden.

I objected to an application recently but it's currently on hold as the applicant has been accused of murder :#  https://www.monmouthshirebeacon.co.uk/news/murder-investigation-launched-in-abergavenny-544067

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I feel its payback for the amount of precious plants the rabbits have destroyed over the years!

I've just dicovered all the geraniums near the raspberries have been beheaded, and all the purple loosestrife by the pond, chelsea chopped at 18inches.  Having been basically called a liar by the planning department, I'm getting the videos  out there. We need some wildlife warriors.  We don't all want to live in concrete tower blocks.  One of the planning committee said that the wildlife would find somewhere else to go. This valuable building land is within spitting distance of Junction 25 M1, prime commuter belt, so any other considerations are basically ignored.    About an hour ago, the deer had a quick walk round the lawn and then back out again.  I think she probably had a drink of water out of the pond.  I was so gobsmacked , sat on the patio under the brolly, that I didn't dare move.

All we can do is keep trying, even if it feels futile sometimes
