Panda, I love that geum/photinia colour scheme - quite Chelsea...  image  Agree about roses with no scent though.

Just came in to do the washing up so I suppose I'd better get on with it...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Afternoon all

What a grey and dreary BH Monday it's been here - and windy - and cold. Fleece on, central heating on, maximum temp in south facing (windows and doors closed) potting shed - 15C....

They say be careful what you wish for - on Saturday I was saying we could do with a bit of rain. Today Met Office has issued a yellow warning for here for rain for tonight / tomorrow - torrential at times, winds becoming even stronger. So that will do the aquilegias, taller clumps of geraniums, hesperis etc a power of good won't it? image

Your garden is starting to look pretty Panda - the geums are looking very jolly.

Love the hat Pat knitted - a clever pattern - very professional looking!

Hope you are able to get to Norfolk without too many problems BL. From your and Obelisk's postings it sounds as though Northern Europe is not a great place to be this week. OH is going to Basel on Wed - think things are ok there.

OK - cuppa finished - now I should do some ironing. But maybe I can find a distraction task instead... image

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Hi all.

Back from a rare expedition into Sheffield. I go so rarely, I can barely find my way around.

Marital disharmony, as OH said she would phone when she had done her bits, and we would meet for coffee. Of course I did not have mobile turned on, although I did eventually realise.

Hopefully get a couple of hours outside, placing Dahlias where I think they will best be planted.

    See original post

     don't mention phones.?

Not bad here today, quite a bit of cloud but not cold and no rain.  Think we are due a downpour on Wednesday.

Love the photo Pat and very pretty hat.  Used to do lots of knitting but tend to cross stitch now instead.  That reminds me still have loads to do on cot quilt for new grandson.  He'll be going to school before it's finished if I'm not careful.

Been pottering round the garden for most of the day, attacked a few brambles and some ivy that was trying to creep up neighbours wall.  Popped to Ashwoods and bought a new obelisk for my clematies which are due to be delivered later this week.

Glad you forwarded your messages to Daniel.  Just block the senders now and ignore them.

Am feeling quite pleased with myself as I have found out to post photos.  There is a button on windows 10 labelled enhance but it also reduces the size so I can now post photos again. Yipee

Hope you get your packing done Dove.

It wouldn't be a bank holiday without some DIY. More knocking plaster off the walls. This possibly 1950s wallpaper at least features appropriate decorations!

    Evening all.

What a glorious sunny , might I even say very warm day. Polytunnel hit 47C earlier. 18C outside even now.

Grass all cut ready for VIPs' visit on Thursday. Much clearing of rubbish which has built up lately.

Working 12-8 tomorrow. crappy shift. No idea when I'll get the tunnels watered .

    Devon.

Seems strange I live in semi rural lincolnshire and have only ever seen 1 fox , last year , yet in Birmingham have seen loads , my Dad used to feed them

We do have lots of rabbits on field opposite but every so often  , men with ferrets come and clear them out , but the always return
