Unhealthy bamboo

Hi all

Can anyone offer any advice on my bamboo plant?  It's been in a large pot for about 6 years and has been fine, growing new shoots in the spring etc but over the last few months it's gone from lush looking to spindly and dry brown looking, generally unhealthy and drab.

Any advice?

Many thanks

Has it ever had fresh soil/compost Zo?  It sounds like it might be a bit pot bound by now  if the pot's the only one it's ever been in. It may contain mainly roots. Bamboo can be tricky in containers, despite their reputation for easily getting rampant in the ground image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Try Epsom salts, will help green up, depending on area dose according

to directions and again in a fortnight. Work in to surrounding area and water in ????

Is this clumping? Or spreading species?

Lastly, do not clean away shedding leaves from around base of bamboo They need the nutrients from this.
