Oh, WW aren't they wonderful? I have been picking them for the last few days and the scent is so glorious, I've even got a vase of them in the bathroom. I know some people don't like cut flowers, but even if I'm pretty broke in the middle of winter I'll get a cheap bunch of 'mums' from the farm shop; I think flowers in the house make the room alive.

Have just picked a small bunch of sweet peas for the house, first of the year... always worth waiting for

The beauty of sweet peas is that you have to cut them or they would pretty soon give up flowering altogether.
I've just cut a bunch of sweet peas. They are doing much better than last year.
From today:
random hardy geranium - I have lots of these
another with a bee just departing
Coreopsis Sunray with a matching pair of naughty labybirds!
and runner bean Tenderstar - worth growing just for the flowers with which they are loaded, with a spike every 4 or 5 inches from the ground upwards!
...aww I love those beans... little bit like the variety 'Painted Lady'... I've grown that one, but this looks more intense...
The flowers are all red and then those white petals just spring out, seemingly from nowhere, Salino.
...I hope they taste as nice as they look.... I might put that on my list for next season... a bean or two...
I'll let you know in a few weeks if they live up to their name!
FB, I think sweet peas appreciate a bit of warmth which was somewhat lacking last year? A summer to forget for all sorts of reasons
