They are lovely plants, with quite a variety of colours available; I had Verbascum Marlborough(?) but it was a rather insipid pale primrose so I looked for more vibrant ones. They take quite a bit of space so that is why mine is on the drive.
my verbascums got blown down by the strong wind last week as well as my tall alliums.. everything flat on the ground.
as for summer.. it is longest day next week... and the weather doesnt seem to have done as it should for this time of year..my cosmos seedlings are only just starting to bush out and no flowes yet.. my rudbeckias are only 5 ins tall and flowering already..my wallflowers are still flowering so havnt taken them out to replace with the rudbeckias like normally do yet.
Gardeningf I am so sorry to hear about the plants being flattened; it must be heartbreaking, especially at this time of the year when you expect everything to be looking good
Yeah, I hate the wind the most as I think it is the most spoiling and damaging.
What us gardeners have to endure...
Here's a photo of my purple and white garden which got designed this year and is the biggest success of my design adventures. Just gonna sit and enjoy as it matures now.
The rose is only two years old, but what a marvellous thing it shall become now that its proper settled and growing well
and a close up of the rose "Winter White" (no relation )
This is the freebie geranium I had which has just opened today. Very long stamens. If anyone can enlighten me as to the name I'd be most grateful. No idea where it came from
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Such lovely pictures everyone. It's nice now because every day there are new things to see. Nut and wintersong the clematis is Florida Sieboldii, in pics the white petals are open so I am not sure why it is like this.

So lovely, Wintersong. I have been snapping two things that are pertect companions colourwise in my garden - blue bearded iris and heuchera "Caramel".
Lovely rose Wintersong. I like the crinkly ones

Try G. xcantabrigiensis 'Biokovo'
It's a cross between Gs dalmaticum and macrorrhizum. Lovely well behaved ground cover. Comes in darker pink as well which might be called 'Cambridge'.
