...Yes thank you, I think it's very nice.. so easy to grow too...
I've done a little alpine bowl, having seen yours. Remains to be seen if mine will be as nice... I've used a couple of Sempervivums, alpine Geranium cinereum, and a white Erodium reichardii,...
I also like Busy-Lizzie's white trough, it looks like wood but suppose it could be plastic. I do like that very much... I'd really like one... perhaps 3 even...
Forgot to say, the white trough is sort of plastic resin by Grosfillex. It is about 25 years old. We bought 5 of them and they have lasted incredibly well.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
^oh thank you, I shall see if I can find one.... yes one Fairygirl, I think you're right...
...not only a fine Wisteria above... but the railings it's growing on are a feature in itself I would say.... something of a 'Monet' look to that....??
here is Houstonia 'Millards variety', also known as Hedyotis caerulea, Bluets or Quaker Ladies....... not quite sure where they got that one from.... said to grow best in poor acid damp soil. I wouldn't like to say what this is growing in,... builders sand - rubble - not acid... full sun - dry...? .. it puts up with me...
...a close up of Clematis alpina 'Frances Rivis'... I love these huge flowers...
...I'm glad you like it... I love taking close ups like this. I don't know about anyone else but I see several creatures in that photo... large bees..? for instance or some alien monster. I see a pair of eyes, a big blue nose and 4 wings... as if they're all about to land... like something from a space ship... or from Doctor Who...?

A full month after Marion's, my tulips are finally in bloom !
Ok, so the colours don't quite go with the rest of the border - but they are zingy, and they make me smile
Salino- lovely foliage on that epimedium
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Salino the alpines will be lovely. I might do a few more of them and put them up on something so that if I'm sitting I can see them properly.
3 troughs would be better wouldn't they...
Who said less is more..

Or four winged pterodactyls from the age of the dinosaurs. I am sure they were much more colourful than they are depicted.
