Mandy, I have discovered that the verbena needs to be in the dark to germinate. I have done a second batch today and the research said that they get watered from below...not saturated, damp...in the fridge for 2 weeks and in the dark. Then out the fridge and back to 15-20??.
I planted several pots of seeds the other day, Dahlias being my most impressive, I havent grown these since I was 6 and have recently fell back in love with them. I planted up 3 pots of them, 2 on the kitchen windowsill and one in the coldframe (test). The packet says they take 1-3 weeks to germinate but one of the pots on the windowsill has already sprouted a first set of leaves in 3 days, the other right next to it and the cold frame are showing no signs of life 1 week on. Intruiged to see what will happen..
