The secret of getting spring flowers to flower outside before winter is officially over seems to me to garden in the city centre.  Here are Tulipa kaufmanniana "Love Song" in fill flower in my friend's garden just a few miles from me "out in the sticks".  That extra 1 degree makes such a difference.  Mine are showing red in my garden but only just.

Gorgeous Happy Marion.   You are so right about the little differences in conditions.  Love these colours - lovely pot display and nice to see it.  Very cheering.  Love to see your photos.

  • What a beautiful pic. Wish mine looked like this

I have just been out in my garden although it is nippy today again and will take some pictures later.  My kaufmanniana tulips are just showing in pots and the daffodils have survived the horrible weather so I will have a sea of colour for the end of winter. The outdoor hyacinths are showing too.

Oh, my goodness what a blaze of colour in my garden both front (north facing) and back (south facing).  Here is a taster.

It is the end of winter tomorrow so I will post a last picture from my garden before the lushness of spring begins.
