Hi Lyn-if I could have the petunias and 2X buzy-lizzies pleaseimage

  • Hi Gardengirl,

Sorry for the delay, been away due to nast health. Anyways...Some F1 Courgette, beetroot and some onion if you stall have them???

Good to see the seed swap is still goin strong image My local GC has all their seeds in so have already been down lol.

I learnt a very good trick from a freind the other week and it works really well image. Shes a garden and horticultural specialist and has been keeping me right. She says that when you plant your seeds, place them in a dark cupboard for a week and then put them out in the greenhouse. It works great. You can have more control over the watering side and they seem to like the dark spell. On average...its a 98% germination success rate image

Not sure if it is the dark doing the trick Sam-rather the warmthimage

Some seeds need light to germinate-petunias, begonias impatiens..........

Some seeds need light, some need darkness. Just as some need warmth and some need a chill. If i get a new seed I spend ages researching what is most likely to get it to germinate.

  • Possibly Geoff. It seems to work at the moment for my Larkspur and Verbena.
