Perhaps it might be worth mentioning here.....please don't me lulled into buying those silly little, fancy obelisks (sometimes made of willow or metal) which are not much more than a metre high and being sold as sweet pea supports......they are just totally inadequate.

Phew!!! We got there....I knew we would.
Thanks for the hug. I can go back to sleep now.
PS. Remember to keep cutting them and don't let them go to seed.
I will do, thanks David. I have some deep red ones too that will probably open tomorrow......proper chuffed
They look really healthy, OL.....perhaps my only reservation would be if their supports have enough height.
Enjoy the fragrance.
I was wondering that David......I may have to make some emergency supports....oops

I've made my own for my other sweet peas, that are still quite small and nowhere near flowering, 12 ft bamboo canes tied together
I understand, OL, something 6 to 8ft will be perfectly adequate.
My previous post was just a general one really.
Oh, btw....Monty Don won't be cutting his for another month.
Well what's good enough for Monty is good enough for me
I'm sure you don't mean that!
Or did you mean you wouldn't have mined waiting for another month?
Errr, yes, why what did you think I meant? I hope you weren't being rude David K
I like his dog too
