Hope you don't get storm damage like we've had here today. I've just returned home having visited the Peak District and there must have been a heck of a storm while I was away......given the damage & mud around.
While we were in Bakewell at lunchtime there was a heavy thunderstorm.
David we're only half an hour from bake well, it's a lovely town isn' t it? Don' t think my sp's got any buds yet, lots nice and tall, all strong looking, think I did plant too many but didn't t expect them all to make it..
Wish I'd have known, rosemummy....I would have popped in for a cuppa. Yes, it is a lovely town, one we visit often. We had lunch at the Rutland Arms Hotel......a nice meal which we dragged-out cos it was pouring with rain.
Be patient, your SPs will soon be in flower.
PS. Jayne Austen stayed at the Rutland Arms when she was writing 'Pride and Prejudice'.
Hi, OL.....as you will know, much of it was based around Derbyshire and it seems she stayed where we had lunch when she was researching for the book. I would like to think that 'Pemberley' was based on nearby Chatsworth, but probably not.
as i've just pm'd to o.l i must go to bed but had to have a quick catch up, i love jall jane austen books, and the brontes , david i always think pemberley was inspired by chatsworth, i love it there

Ignore the above.....just googled it and it seems Pemberley was based on Chatsworth.

I've not been to Chatsworth but heard that Jane Austin had based one or maybe more books on it but wasn't sure which one(s).
Joanna Trollope has released a modern version of Sense and Sensibility....hmmmm, not sure about that one
Oh you must visit Chatsworth, OL. Breath-taking at every turn and the history.....including links to the Kennedys & Astaires.
I was last there at Christmas....such opulence.
My first Sweet Peas, thank you so much for your advice, help and patience David......sending a thank you hug
