Lyn, have you got any white aconitum seed left please?  I have some Astrantia 'Star of Beauty' if you're interested.

Btw the Lychnis seeds you sent me are lovely little plants now, ready for the border next year.  Thank youimage

Good luck there Nut, I hope you do better than me. I have tried three years running, sown at all different times, don't know what to try next!

i wonder if its too damp up here to leave them completely outside, maybe try leaving them in the green house, starting around November, or try the fridge and sow in Spring.

i agree about the Chinese Foxgloves, sow in the spring now.

  • If anyone has any of the following seeds for our school garden that would be great, please...

    Perovskia

    Ecinacea

    Lavandula angustifolia

Nepeta 'walkers low' or 'Summer magic'

    Salvia nemorosa.

    Verbena 'lollipop'.

    Thank you!

Hi Lyn, I haven't tried germinating Aconitum napellus before (as far as I can remember, it's possible that I have and they didn't). I have germinated other species and varieties though. I sow them straight away, leave them outside then bring them into the cold GH around February. Just as cold in there but more convenient to keep an eye on them. Also it does start to warm up in day time and the fluctuation in temperature might give them a shock and wake them upimage
