Another little sonnet to add a little joviality to the thread.
"Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die."
Edd, I think there's a touch of muppet in everyone
Yes David, it is, sorry I put my last post on very quickly.....the rice was boiling over I seem to vaguely remember studying it for English Lit but I thought it was written by a war poet and it isn't so maybe not.

Talking of cracking up - Deborough Kerr, a spoken song on her album 'Send in the Clowns'. Powerful.

I didn't realise they had to be gardening themed......even bigger muppet me
That's a beautiful poem David, if a little sad
Sorry, OL
Even if it's a tad morbid, I still think there is something (as you say) beautiful about it.

My Dad chose that poem to be read out at his funeral.
I'd like it at my funeral which I'm hoping won't be for a few years yet and I'd like the to play Morning Has Broken....the Cat Stevens version
OL, not for many, many years yet.
