I'm just not sure about how to propagate things that's all. I've only just started experimenting with harvesting my own seeds and cuttings. Splitting I can do!
Like you I'm thinking of / in the process of redesigning ( that sounds too posh) my garden as it is a tangly trip hazard at the mo...but if I think of anything I'll whack it on
Fab, the more the merrier! Im still learning, have been gardening for ever! Im really hit and miss with cuttings! Try layering instead, its much easier
I can do some very unusual and rude shaped carrots sometimes!
This method works the same fr geranium as well.
VS here is a photo of a geum cutting, if you look down at the base of your plant you will see lots of bits like this, just grab all the leaves that go with it, give it a gentle twist and pull until it breaks further down in the ground, it will then have a few roots on it. Put it in a pot of compost, and place in a shady spot for a couple of weeks, or if you are posting it, wrap it in some wet cotton wool or kitchen roll and put the root bit in a plastic bag.
Clear as mud, get back to me if needs be!. I can be a garbled writer.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
