Spent a lovely afternoon dead heading and pottering. Look forward to seeing a pic of the robins, how sweet.

Inkadog, what a cracking picture of your garden,so many different plants, that's my idea of a dream garden.

Here are some photos of my latest work in progress--to hide my pot storage and water tank. I plan to plant a vertical garden in the pallets, using ferns on the left[shadier side] and succulents like hens and chicks on the right side. I need to terrace steps in front first, and you can see the soil is rocks and gravel. The pots are temporary until I get the soil improved. The pallets and the gate were freefree!

@inkadog.. that will look stunning.. such a great idea! make sure you keep us up to date with progress.image loe that gate the 6 square glass panels are lovely.. wouldnt mind a front door like that

It was the front door from an old farmhouse that was being bulldozed. The bottom was cut off, though, so I had to reinforce it. I salvaged four solid wood interior doors as well, along with a lovely rhodo. It did well for a few years, then died in a drought.

Might put lattice above the pallets once they are planted up--haven't decided. Will be installing a watering sysem, and using plants I already have.

Raining here today, so won't be doing much outside--have a retirement lunch for an old collegue.

You need to ask Santa/fairies to send you a nest box camera.

    Some pics taken this morning...

Rain-drops on the leaves of Alchemilla Mollis...

The best plant for collecting water is teasel. A small pond forms in every leaf axil...

And got the water butt nice and full...
