Years since I had a naan bread must add that to the list, no rice pudding here I will be having a beef and aubergine keema and new potatoes
Lottie I sadly think that if they are the gift ones they are so badly forced/treated that they collapse very quickly, the ones my mum had earlier in the year are already in plant heaven.
Will put them outside and see if they are any happier out there. Kate, am not surprised they go to plant heaven so quickly. I was also given some lilies which were in tight bud but have now opened out and are filling the house with their scent - lovely.
Will be cutting rhubarb, picking strawberries and digging up potatoes before going home this evening. Might also pick some salad leaves.
Potato Queen-I have been rummaging in my early potatoes pots and can't feel anything -when should I tip them out? -just finished flowering-I am holding you responsible if their is no crop
My 2 little gift roses also gone to plant heaven. I tried potting them on in better compost & lots of TLC, but they just kept dropping their leaves & I just couldnt be faffed. I think actually buying proper minature/patio roses from a decent supplier works. Memories of some I got from Southport show yrs ago doing very well in the garden at our first house- but it did have clay soil & so roses loved it there.
OH has the remote!! & that Swedish cop show now on- one he missed! J.
I will not hold myself responsible if these roses don't make it then. They came from well known supermarkets, not garden centres.
As for potatoes, I can only tell you when to tip them out if I know when you planted them - the day, hour and minute! Otherwise I will issue a disclaimer and deny all knowledge! If the foliage starts to look a bit tired and yellowed it means the potatoes are no longer being nourished so might as well be out. I tend to leave my main crop ones until this happens (or even later, if I'm busy with other stuff!)
Lottie it was a fine day in old Southampton town, the bird was on the wing the sun was shining and it was after lunch-that is as close as I can get-I will wait till they look tired after a late night out on the tiles
You may be absolved from all responsibility around crop day-who knows?

I keep having a rummage in potato bag and cannot find a thing, the foliage is looking very sorry for itself.
I feel we have had a right royal let down and been ill advised-there may be redemption for the Woking One in another place
