I'm not being anti-social, I'm having terrible trouble getting GW up on either of my computers. Every other website works fine.
Anyway, my elderly neighbour has cut my grass verge ever since I came here. I do feel a bit guilty now I'm no longer working! Thinking of tidying up his and my edges. Local council only cut twice a year now. The long grass is left behind "We're not paid to take it away", apparently!!!!
Kate, can we have just enough slugs in heaven for the hedgehogs? We acquired a new rescue boy yesterday. He's huge, with a white marker blob on his back. I'm calling him Barry ;- )
I can't get the site to upload a picture - but then I'm not the most technically minded person in the world.
Has been dry so far so I expect Geoff has been able to see some tennis - no doubt we will get a full match report tomorrow!
Went to the plot at lunchtime and something had left a big smelly poo by the shed - and it could well have been a hedgehog - so I shan't complain provided it keeps eating the slugs!
Daughter & me had a great visit to Bodnant, NWales. Yes some rain, but not as much as predicted, or perhaps because we were under the big trees a lot of the time so it didnt reach us. There was certainly more water lying on the roads closer to home tonight.
The borders were good. I've previously been earlier in the year so it made a change to see them properly in flower. I bet they look really good later on in the season too. The subtle staking was noted- daughter did my peony after seeing the way they were staked at another NT garden.
Unfortunately my bright idea of popping into Ikea at Warrington, on the way back, via M6 backfired somewhat with major traffic probs with 2 lanes closed due to an accident. Loved (not) the fact that the overhead m/way signs didnt tell us of the problems until actually on the no-return access road to M6 from M56! Did mean that we could easily listen to Wimbledon on the radio though, whilst moving very slowly.
Anyway 2 more plants have come home with us. Very reasonably priced too.
Another busy day tomorrow, so shall be glad to flop on Thursday! Doesnt look as if it will be dry enough to do anything outside though. J.
All my transport arrangements worked-up at 5 go to Wimbledon around10 given a queue card number 8047 so stood in a field why we were marshalled about then around mid-day stated the slow march into the grounds getting in around 1pm-lots of wandering about watched lots of tennis with players I had never heard of-saw A Murray-not A.Murray but J.Murray play doubles-watched Rafa on the big screen and Andy also from the hill the tv panned twice -I waved vigorously-did any body spot me??
It was hot in the morning clouded over there was a short sharp shower mid-afternoon but unfortunately there was another around 8pm so that was it for the day-back on the bus managed to get on the 10pm coach got in around 12.30am this morning absolutely shattered.
Was having a lovely sleep- phone goes at 5.20 and some woman asking me if I can call early as she has been sleeping in her car all night-that is the locksmiths?????

I have had trouble with the site at certain times

Just got rained on while going to the tip and walking the dogs. About to turn on telly & see if Geoff is being serenaded by any ancient pop singers!
Lottie if your photo is on your desktop just use the tree to upload it.
We have had heavy rain too but they seem to be playing at wimbledon, I have not seen a man wearing a fuchsia t-shirt yet.
The aussie contingent are watching Wimbledon on the TV. I forgot to tell them to watch out for fuchsia t-shirt man (possibly wearing a hat).
I'm sat in the garden, even though it's a bit overcast and gloomy, mainly because I was forced to spend 11 hours in the office today!
I have problems on and off with this site so just post when I can and give up when I can't.
I'm looking forward to the slug free part of heaven
Well I hope Geoff has enjoyed himself.

Grey, damp and muggy here.
I hope Geoff got home safely last night and was not distracted by the bright lights of London town
Jo what plants did you buy?
