I have sent dustpan & choice of 2 brushes upstairs with a bin bag. Box already up there. BTW I'm not going to tip!! Box contents in crate in porch, from whence the box came- originally from Dad's house when we finally cleared it out in July11!!

Somebody, no names here, has been going to sort that box out ever since...... looks as if has added to the contents on the way- am sure that's HIS stuff........ image

    Dare I go up?  J.

When I was selling books I went onto Amamzon to do it. I found a 1982 Good Beer Guide, put it on Amazon as a joke and sold it for £15!

Would recommend anyone with books to look before you sell. Some are only for charity shop, but unless you check you never know!

My entries for the VHS Tape Upcyling Competition:

    1) C***** tree decorations.

    2) The cassette cases (we mustn't forget them)  - could be stacked in a pile at the end of the garden, lightly covered with compost, and planted with alpines, to form a nice rockery - I can see Joe Swift copying that one.

I would also suggest using them in the bottom of pots to save on compost-I am sure I read that somewhere recently but cant seem to find it nowimage

  • Gary -  I can see Bob Flowerdew really going for your idea, but he wouldn't bother with compost.

bjay, I'll have a good look through my books before I let them go, but I don't think I've got any 1st editionsimage I really just need the space and to declutter. I've got enough drinking glasses of all type to set up a pub, where have they all come fromimage. Things have really got out of hand, I've got tablecloths for the oval table we got rid of a few years ago and they no longer fit my larger table.

.No, I've just got to bite the bullet and get rid of them.I WILL be strong.

Geoff. I use polystyrene in the bottom of large pots, it helps to fill some space with weight, but I expect you know that.image

Yes, I saw that too. It was one of Joe Swift's ideas, I think.

    Not original.

Well as I've spent the majority of the last few days messing about with things technical -including working out how to record on vhs tapes direct from Sky - maybe you could donate them!

And posted this on another thread, but it's fairly seasonal, halloween and all...

  • Correction to my previous post. I meant to say without weight. Brain going faster than fingersimage

I know I have said this before but on my last visit to the loft four weeks ago-before the recent news- I found a Jimmy Saville autobiography-he came to the book distribution company I was working for at the time- must be 30 years or so ago to publicise it-offers anyone?

George Best signed one to be located- it is up there somewhereimage

If that book includes photos of said celebrity with young girls then it may be a serious criminal offence to possess such material.

And even more serious if you're trying to sell it.
