  • Kev seems very funny, Geoff, should be a good night.

Oh Jo, hope it gets a bit warmer. The whole house gets upset when a job like that is tackled.

Thanks for identifying the fungus, Gary. That looks like the one.

There must be a use for all those video tapes. Using the tape as bird scarers, tying things up! How about making that today's competition.  The most original use.

B****r wish I'd known- treeman doing next doors' Leyland hedge. Ok I managed with ours, he did an excellent job last yr, so had good framework to cut back to, but the effort for little, literally, me........

OH now in scruffs, but daughter not, oh no, YES has finally made it into the bathroom for a shower! So I will need to get in there asap to remove all sorts into a spare washing basket before OH gets busy with whatever he's just got from garage toolbox! Hope his safety googles fit over his spex.... have got a larger looking pair he could use, but covered in fence paint- well it never all comes off does it?.

Better be upstairs ready for demolision. Byee J.

Jo. that sounds like major hassles :- (    I like your 'safety googles' typo. Presumably it's a search engine with the strictest possible filters on ;- )

Gary, I have been on a dog walk in the woods with camera for photgraphing fungi. You're right, there are zillions about! Mostly small and easily overlooked. I will upload a couple of piccies later.

    OK, bear with ...

FloBear with fungus photos, actually. I took 42. I had a rule for 'show and tell' in my class that you had to select three favourite photos from collections that were brought in to show to the class. I've slightly broken this and have 5 to inflict on you.

    Big ones

     Tiny bracket ones

     Stripy orangey jobs

     Velevety purple one

     Pinky purple mini forest

There was also a found camera case hanging on a tree. When I looked inside, I found it had been turned into a refuge/

Yes Geoff, that is normally the popular option. A bit of both.

Has Lottie been buried under the paperwork? image

Pam, I'm in for the competition. How long have we got until closing time for entries?

    Great concept, Geoff.

But why not be more commercial. You can easily convert old tape into arty pieces which sell for £10,000 upwards.

Who wouldn't like this in their living room:

Stylish clothes made from VHS tape:

Lots more brilliant examples, where those came from, on this page:
    http://inspirationgreen.com/vhs-tape-reuse.html

That page includes an instructional video on UPCYCLING VHS tape. Upcycling is the word - making 'waste' more valuable than it was.

Now I'll have a look at Flo's mushrooms.

When i see photos of groups of fungi i always shudder and think Honey Fungus, then relax when I realise that most aren't and are really - well - different.

Don't envy any of you having re-furbs. we went through that and it lasted forever. New CH, New bathroom, knocking out walls , so no kitchen, building on so mud every where, then last job was putting in log burner - finished 2 days before last Christmas - Bliss. But to think about it now Aaaargh!. So sympathies, just remember it will be PK when fifnished.

Thanks for input on blower. Thing is i also have gravel paths. Will have to persuade OH to get out his mower and do that, Mowing is the only bit of gardening he does and I think he'd put mower  away till spring.
