I thought of trying strawberries next year. Have a packet of seeds - free. Any one experience of growing this way.. Stop buying strawberries now, raspberries are my autumn ones. Only planted them in June and getting a handful every other day or so. really pleased.
This was a story I read this morning -I love the way journalists put a spin on stories to make them sound a lot more interesting- than they actually are ~~~~~~~~

bjay, strawbs from seeds I found dead easy! Multi-purpose compost, scatter them on top, cover with minimal amount of compost, water, and wait. They stay tiny for ages, then kick in. I potted mine up into individual pots when 3rd True leaves appeared. Found they do better in containers than the ground though.
Here's my Dalek. There are 3 of them. I find it very hard to close the little door (partly because the bins are a bit old, and have buckled slightly).
I put all my rubbish in there (as much as they will take). You can see some eggshells in the compost. Many people don't put eggshells in. I also put teabags in, and also most of my newspapers. And this stuff just comes out of the bottom. I don't know what the transit time is. I'd guess about a year. It's a continuous process.
Well, The one that's still producing now was a shop bought one which is Elan, but I sowed some Alexandria Alpine seeds in June, just for fun really, and they are now big and healthy. They are everywhere. In hanging baskets, pots, morrisons buckets and some in the ground. I know it was out of season, but wanted to monitor the speed of growth really ready for next year. I have about 30 plants now.

All about success n failure! You live n learn! That's what makes this gardening lark so much fun!

A bit of a snippet on AT's Secret Garden! Very nice! But for some reason didn't expect it to be so formal, symmetrical n regimental! He has OCD!
