Finally watched GW without fallling asleep. Is it me or was there not really much content. Longer programme would be so much better - I know discussed before. I'd have more time to go to sleep as well!!!
My Mushroom of the Day. This is a Russula. There are many Russulae. This one is probably Russula Rosea. Book says that are found beneath broad-leaved trees, which it is. Inedible.
Interesting news item this morning... This is 'Wild About Magic Week'. I guess this is a lead up to Halloween, which is moving from a single night, to an entire week's festivities. During 'Wild About Magic Week', kids can meet Friendly Fairies and Evil Elves, courtesy of Essex Wildlife Trust. Not much further detail:
I suppose it's possible that some little people might be hiding under the Russula rosea. If I tasted the hallucinogic Amanita muscaria, I might even see them.
Grey sky here for a third day, and the forecast is not much better for tomorrow. At least it doesn't seem to be quite so foggy. And its getting colder by the weekend so all those tender plants in pots will have to be moved - not entirely sure where to though!
I've done it - driven the car for the first time since April 2011. Now to see how foot reacts during the day. Over reved a bit on starts but that's just practise, went slowly - never used to- and managed to park ina car park.
Realy grim again. Little weather box says 'dark cloud ' just fog, damp and unpleasant really.
After lunch am going to sort out new compost bin. At one time getting excited over such a thing would be a no, no.
Looked for a creenhouse fumigater but only one I saw required moving all plants out. Just spent a week putting plants in! Any one know another one.?
The news is full of all doom and gloom -there does not appear to be many lighter stories at the moment
That is good then bjay-to be more mobile again-what a treat in store- shovelling compost
Must remember to bring the hibiscus indoors and the bougainvillea
Can anybody explain why the e-mail that tells me Lottie has posted arrives 10 minutes after the event?-is there some sort of time warp I don't understand-then another one arrives 15 minutes later?
Flo must still be waiting for the engineer to rescue her from the Hinterland

Thanks for all the sympathy, I have taken lots of tablets and slept and that seems to have helped.
bjay I agree content was very limited, do you watch Beechgrove?
Geoff remember we now know where you live so if the prediction does not come true.........

Suppose it's just a matter of time.
Kate, hope you are feeling better as well.
Glad you are back in England Geoff and Lottie what a lovely little dog.
Nice to hear from Dean.http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012/10/23/cat-nurses-kitten-four-orphaned-baby-hedgehogs_n_2004549.html
Its a strange day here , funny looking sky and quite warm and I do believe the sun is trying to come out.
Don't know if this will work but it's a video about a cat that adopted orphaned hedgehogs. If it doesn't I may need help.
It's gone wrong already.
Another rescue mission
