Miss B was it busy, in the SE we have been told that people outside the SE are not interested?

1-1 not a bad result, not a great game.

    Still paining.

We stayed dry all day up here & all being well shall get the lawn done tomorrow once car out of garage.

Abandoned the patio crack clearing- my fingers just arent up to grasping fiddly things yet- was wearing very thin gloves, as per usual, but the chemo has 'b' up my finger tips as well as toes, so still couldnt cope. Oh well it'll improve sometime.

So managed to remove all the excess aquilegias- they had all but finished flowering today. Left all the ones with wool tied around them, will cut those back later on. Discovered that my rudbekia deamii is being well & truely eaten this year, doubt will get any.

Think have 'found' the missing hardy geranium, but will know for certain when it flowers. Not quite where I thought it was though........

Eek, a spider has just walked across the carpet in front of the sofa, where am sat, & disappeared beneath! J.

I hate not knowing where they are (spiders that is).

It's stopped raining now but there has been a bit of flooding in our locality.  Not my house because I am sensible and live at the top of a slope and not down near the seafront.

Spiders under the settee is not good news-time for a swift exit

After 24 hours or so of paining mats and logs I can now report it has finally stopped in the last hour- not in time for the morning trek to the bottom of the garden of course-that would be asking too muchimage

On the upside the water butt is full again

Looks like it is just about to start paining here again. Do we still have a hosepipe ban?

Not stopped at all here so it was a wet dash to let the girls out this morning, accompanied by Alfie who thought it was fun to jump up and put muddy paws on my pale jeans.

Jo, how come you've managed to have some dry weather? This is very strange - next people will be telling me the sun is shining in Cornwall!

Geoff, I have two broody hens - they just keep sitting on the other hens eggs which I just keep taking away - is this the right approach I wonder?

Lottie I have the same problem with one and it has been going for weeks-the advice I was given is to make the nest an uncomfortable place to be and taking way eggs-I made the mistake of putting in china eggs as a substitute and that is wrong too-it is a matter of breaking the habit apparently

The only thing about making the nest uncomfortable is where do the laying hens lay?

On the dry days I put on the grass in a separate run-hoping this will work-so any ideas welcome-cos I am stuck too

No hosepipe bans-just flood warnings-the weather chap hinted last night that after the weekend something drier and brighter is on the horizon-which horizon he did not specifyimage
