  • Yes kids are definitely a bind - even though he is nearly 20 - but he's the baby of the family and has always caused me more sleepless nights than the other two!

I know it wasn't my turn to buy the coffee - I bought it last time. And the milk!

Afties everyone, just been out to stock the bird table again , they are all still around . Thanks for the info, Gary. I have sunflower hearts, meal worms ,image (ughhh ) table mix and fruit. I also put out a small amount of cheese so they have plenty to choose from. Not seen the nut hatches since this morning though, hope that lot will tempt them back.

Sorry to hear you are still poorly Geoff - if it's tummy trouble try boiling a fresh, sliced lemon and leave the peel on. There is something in the pith which calms everything down. Another cure from my Nan. I've tried this and it does help.

Kids ! The older they get ,the more you worry in my experience.

Can you believe this moth has been voted the most scariest in a survey ? I think it's cute.

     Rosy maple moth.

  • Oooh, Kate. Isn't mahonia a bit spiky? But kill or cure, that's what I say.

Like your moth, Jean. He looks as though he's waving.

I haven't started feeding the birds yet. I had a nuthatch visit last winter. I had to look it up to see what it was. Lovely bird. Black sunflower seeds is what it liked. I find birds are getting fussy and are not so keen on peanuts. I fill one feeder with sunflower seeds and the other with the chicken's mixed corn.

  • Jean you are right it is cute and very colourful.

Students, eh? I love it when the students come back in until they start coming to me with problems, sometimes I just want to say use a bit of common sense.

    Keep smiling Geoff.

Need a break from the computer now, so might poppy head outside as the sky is brightening up a bit.

    That moth is amazing.

pottiepam I sometimes think men need an incentive to get betterimage

Glyn that is quite a surreal image, do you have a collection of heads, sunflower for a sunny day, rose for a romantic date, castor oil when you need to take your car to the garage.

What a cute moth, he's looks as if he doing those dance moves that I think were once done by John Travolta in I know not what film. He's really small, how can he be scary?

As I grew loads of sunflowers this year and Barry being the very tidy person that he is I was not allowed to leave the sunflowers to die where they wereimage

I have cut off the many seedheads - the seeds are ripe- now what shall I do - leave them as they are for the birds or take all the seeds out for them first?

I am chuffed you liked my photo Jean image I liked last years better image
