    Good Morning Everyone image

I am glad you are o.k after your experience with your cat Hollie- Hock image

I use to love Butterscotch tart at school - I have tried many recipes but they never taste  the same image

A reminder of Summer for me - the greenhouse looks so different now image

Have a good day everyone image

Now I feel guilty about not having had spam with my full English, a few minutes ago.

Went to bed thinking about jam doughnuts due to that baking program. I didn't know that jam doughnuts are actually fried, rather than baked.

I've never heard of jam doughnuts being used as part of the full English, but can see no reason why not. Of course you'd buy the cooked doughnut, and just pop it in the frying pan with the rest, to crisp up, giving you loads of energy to start the day.

Still can't understand how that lady baking judge stays so slim. She must have eaten 20-odd large cakes during that show.

Pleased to see that the night shift did a good job of frightening off spammers last night.

And a nice snap of Pam's greenhouse to start the day.

Also an E-mail in my inbox this morning from T&M, which I expect many of you also received, offering £500 to anyone who finds or breeds a new plant in their garden, that might be of commercial interest.

Morning all , Pam hope you don't mind but I've pinched your photo for my desktop. It's lovely , so full of colour. Had a good laugh watching that video Gary. image

Mixed bag last night and poor Hollie .That must have been really scary.Wonder what the cause of that was ?

Just watching the birds. Since we've had all this rain, they've all been out in force feeding. The nut hatches are back this morning feeding from the table. I  saw them last in Spring so I'm hoping to encourage them to hang around I need to find out what their preferred food is. The long-tails are back in droves as well - 7 up to now.

Time for more tea. Have a good day everyone.

Morning fork folk. Dull and occasional showers so far. Waiting for the sunflower that planted itself in splendid isolation outside the conservatory to flower - it's so close to opening, just waiting for sun.

Jean, you are reminding me that I must get organised with my bird feeders.

    Doughnuts for breakfast - hmmm :- /

  • Nuthatch menu preference, in my garden, tends to be sunflower hearts. They also like peanuts, but not as much, or perhaps it's more awkward for them to get inside the peanut squirrel-proof-cage, though they can. Long-tailed menu preference tends to be bread crumbs.

  • Morning all, working from home today, so I thought I would check in. Cold and dull here, but not raining currently. We are supposed to get a respite today.

    Pam, what a lovely photo.

Haven't watched the baking yet, watched Midsommer instead, but fell asleep in the middle of it. Am sure I will find a chance to catch up with it today.

We don't get many birds in our garden, too many cats around, I do feed in the winter though in a tall shrub rose next to a holly, they are safe from the cats there

    Paining here .

When I am on holiday I often get offered a Danish for breakfast so why not a doughnut.

    Pam great photo.

Ah, that's it Kate, I don't go on holidays!

Paining here now though was trying to sun as well so I'm hoping for a rainbow.

  • Hi everyone.

Lovely morning here in Lincoln. Got the washing out, just hope it stays dry.

We have a flock of sparrows in our garden built up from just a few to about 25 at the  last count, they sit in the pyracantha looking like little decorations,(was going to mention the C word) then nip out for seed from the bird feeders The have to be cautious as we have a sparrow hawk in the area. Who would have thought there would ever be a shortage of sparrows.

On the Continent they have all sorts of sweet bread/cakes for breakfastimage

    Have a good day.

    Love the pic Pamimage
