Ok-tonight's viewing choices are-Midsomer Murders -ITV which has been put on deliberately to steal viewers from a new BBC drama/serial/ soap called Paradise about a dept store-Coldplay have been heavily featured in the trailers
Usual soapy suds, Holby City, then Shameless on 4 at 10pm or a new comedy called Cuckoo on BBC3
Thanks Geoff I will have to do some juggling, I saw a clip of Cuckoo, I always find it annoying when someone has to play a doormat to get a laugh......
'playing a doormat' reminds of a little boy in my class who came in after break with footprints all over his coat. Mathew, says I, what have you been doing? Well, miss, we was playin' Aladdin and I was the Carpet.
My OH uses spam for fishing bait. All this talk of school meals take me back.
Years ago, about 35 to be precise, I was a cook/supervisor for school meals. We used to cook about 200 lunches a day. In those days everything was prepared from scratch using only fresh ingredients, nothing could be repeated twice in the same month and if you had flour in the 1st course, you couldn't use it in the pud. The only thing you could have in tins was spam and baked beans. All the potatoes, veg etc was fresh. Dried peas allowed when you had fish which was twice a month. It was quite a job to work out a menu. I left to have my daughter and soon after that school meals changed to what we have today. For some children it was the only hot meal they ever had.
Enough nostalgia, what's for tea is the next question?
Still raining, and as been all last night and all today!
Had to go out in the back yard and lift all my potted plants out of the outer decorative one's as they are all overflowing! shall add hole drilling to my to-do list!
Just noticed flicking through the glossie's, Octobers issue of GW are offering 4 free Bearded Iris, n this weeks issue of AG mag are offering very similar.
I am feeling a need for greed, n may just have both!!

I honestly used to enjoy my school meals. But saying that, I eat almost anything, and did back then.

Same here Becks. Apart from tinned tomatoes. I've always liked rice pudding, semolina and tapioca so I suppose that helps.
Dean, you little tempter! I love irises, I might just have to have a look at those offers.
