I've got the woodburner going too. Getting in practice for what's coming...

  • No wood burner, but have had the heating on today.

Leftovers tonight, I always make too much when the troops come. Catching up on Montalbano first though.
  • Watched the F1. Enough drama to make it interesting.

I'd never been aware of Vettel's fancy crash helmets before. I think this one is new for Singapore. It had a pattern of flashing 24 LED lights on top of the helmet, which form the star signs of his family.

"The LEDs are glued on top of the helmet and connected by wire. The result is a wild sparkling starry sky, showing the different zodiac signs of Sebastian and his family."

    Techy stuff and photo:

It certainly brought him luck today.

  • You have to feel sorry for Lewis Hamilton, Gary, let down by the car again!
  • I want a helmet like that. I haven't watched the F1 for a while. Never seemed too exciting apart from putting the right tyres on or when to come in the pits.

Had a nice afternoon with my brother and SIL and her elderly aunt. Horrible weather so was lovely just to sit in and chat after lunch.

Good to hear from you Inka. I haven't seen a wasp since the spring when the queens were coming out of hibernation. There were lots of them in the conservatory.  I leave them alone then as they eat pests such as greenfly. It's only in the autumn they are a nuisance getting drunk on fallen fruit and they are going to die soon so we can't blame them for being a bit p****d off and stinging.

  • Geoff, your prize for flower of the day is a week in my caravan in January. That is the week that Becks won earlier on so I hope you and Mrs Geoff don't mind sharing.

Ha ha ha Geoff. You saying that reminded me of another programme I used to watch. Holiday Showdown! Always a lively dicussion on there with them! I would sign up for that one! Another was Wife Swap! Hillarious. image

  • Didn't know show was a Dame, thought it was just Lady, I'll have to watch my Ps&Qs. I remember Pot Black on b&w!

Weather has been fine here, although it started looking like it might rain it hasn't.

Made it to the garden centre today and got a few bits. (Didn't make it yesterday but can now see the floor in daughter's bedroom!)

Ended up with a variegated hebe, a rudbeckia, coreopsis and a perennial wallflower. Good sized plants and in the sale too so really pleased.
