Crikey, it's been a busy few days. Would love to say it was gardening but it has been work stuff, family stuff, more work stuff etc....Will have to have a catch up and a proper read of the posts tomorrow, too tired now but thought I'd have a quick browse.
I did get to the Harrogate Flower Show on Saturday though! Enjoyed the wander round, bought a couple of heuchera plants and a white Japanese Anemone.
There was some film crew there for a new cookery contest show hosted by Carol Vorderman. There was quite a collection of characters, not sure if wearing slightly (or more than slightly!) odd outfits was part of the criteria!
Tom Parker Bowles was a judge and a past Masterchef finalist was there too. They certainly had the better day for filming, Sunday's weather wasn't great.
I like the sound of all the cake here! I better go to bed before I start raiding the cupboard for something to eat though!
Morning all, does that mean we are all present and correct now Geoff? Thought I would just check in, won't have time later on I will be busy inducting my final year students. It's sounds painful I know! They have been out on placement for a year, so it will be,good to see them back.
Too wet for gardening here anyway. I overlook a small garden frommy office window, will have to make doing with looking out every now and then.
Becks -you must never do the "this time last week bit"-that is my job
Glyn-with Nola back I think that is all- safe and sound back in the fold
I am not answering the door or the phone in case there is a lawyer asking for money-doesn't anyone's read T&C's anymore?- just wildly going on clicking the "accept" box.
Morning all, Just watching bird activity. There seems to be a lot of them around this morning - 2 robins have just had ding-dong near the fat balls and noticed a lot of food on the birdtable has gone. Not sure if it was the birds or the squirrel - noticed him scampering around a lot the last few days.
It's freezing cold here too, heating definitely not coming on until 1st October! well that's the plan, just put on an extra layer, or run around a lot. My OH had taken to wearing his thick dressing gown on top of his clothes when watching tv, not a pretty sight, looks like a burgundy bear.
Everyone seems to be extra busy at the moment, plenty to do in the garden after being away for a week. I watched the Bake Off, didn't like the look of the bloody finger, some of the baking looked a bit dodgy as well., but enjoyed the show, only trouble is it makes you want to eat some cake.
It was a bit nippy when I put the bird food out, but brightening up nicely.
Have agreed to spend this morning walking an old dear, aged 90, around the village, with a camcorder, recording her reminiscences. Should be interesting.
I have just noticed that my neighbours are patioing all of their garden obviously they have not read any of the flooding, pearmeable surfaces articles. I am a bit concerned as my garden is below theirs.
Apparently Carols cooking show is from Simon Cowells stable so will be more car crash tv.

More tea is required.
Heating was on for 15 mins last night.
Good morning all.

Geoff apparently your T&C's were not viable.
Chris is that a spoiler alert?
I am still wearing shorts and t-shirts and shivering-how stupid is that?
I can come to an out-of court settlement on injuries-how does 2 mars bars and a palm seedling sound?
There must be a sale on at B&Q with all this building activity
