  •  Chocolate helps everything. Had major back surgery 2 years ago and im sure it was the chocolate that got me through it although others are doubting it. My daughter is going to music festival on Isle of Wight this weekend, last year was a bit wet so i think they deserve some sun this year. Im going to Wisley on saturday with a group from the allotment, not been on a trip with them before so should be interesting. May the sun keep shining o you all.

Just had a bacon sandwich and we are off to Dove Cottage Garden and Nursery in Halifax this afternoon, so might be an opportunity to buy a plant or 2. Will report later.

Lottie, bad luck on the plants, you were probably better off out of the melee that it must have been. DId I tell you I am a member of Chocoholics Anonymous???

Pam, what a great ambition to be in the Paralympics, watched some of the football yesterday, amazing.

Maud I would love to go to Wisley with other gardeners, I am quite envious.

Glyn have a nice time and it is always essential to buy more plants, I like to think I am helping the nursery ownerimage

  • Hi everyone.

Just got back from having a routine blood testimage I hate having them! must be the week for medical issues in our family..We then called at Waitrose to see if they had anything going cheap. Must just have hit it right as I got a few bits reduced, always gives you a good feelingimage

Good afternoon all. Another slot of peace and quiet. Heaven.image

Lottie, look on the bright side. They might have all been disease ridden, and contaminated your whole garden. image

    Becks are you all packed?

Chris no chocolate, image how do you cope with a bad day? I love the reduced sectionimage

  • I read in the press, just a few days ago that 'moderate amounts' of chocolate consumed regularly are good for you...

"Study participants who ate the most chocolate, reduced their stroke risk by 17%"

Strictly, it is only men who are being urged to eat more chocolate. I am taking this advice very seriously.

Pretty much done Kate. Still got a few last minute things to iron, and stuff like toiletries and things we use are still using to go in, but pretty much there now. image

  • Becks you can admit to being the teeniest bit excited - you never know you might enjoy it. Hadn't thought about the plants being diseased - might have had a lucky escape.

Gary, is that milk chocolate, plain chocolate or does it not matter?

    Chris I feel for you!

I always head to the reduced section first, whatever supermarket I'm in.

Well I'm not sure about that particular research.

But there was another different study, about a month ago, which said that eating dark chocolate every day helps to reduce blood pressure....

In any case, I prefer dark chocolate.

The saturated fats in milk chocolate should, theoretically, increase blood pressure. Probably a brand with high cocoa content, and low milk content is best - dark chocolate.

I trust that these research studies are not covertly funded by Cadburys.
