I hate to say this but there was a noticeable chill in the air first thing and all the cars and grass were soggy-I do hope this isn't the end of proper Summer
Washing on-bedding changed-let the packing begin- after shop run.
Good morning all. It is starting to feel a bit autuminal, Geoff. Hope you enjoy your hols. We don't expect to see any photos of you playing naked snooker in your hotel room on facebook. We have standards to keep up.
I also puzzled,Kate, how Dan got his passport after only 5 years. Lived here 35 years and still not got one. We have to sneak back over the border when we go out of the county.
The autumnal chill had passed by the time I got up - either that or sunny East Dorset has a summery micro-climate. The start of autumn has its own smell in the air - normally I don't detect it until September but who knows!
Heard this morning that beekeepers are depressed at the very poor honey yields. My sister-in-Wales has a bumper crop, four times more than she extracted last year, so something turned out right. I have one red tomato and a few green ones.
I thought it felt" back endish" when I first went out this morning, but now sun is shining, lovely morning.
Have baked 2 coconut and cherry cakes, the house smells lovely, 1 for us and 1 for daughter with foot in plaster(broken bone, torn muscles and ligaments)
On the subject of toms, we have got a very good crop, all grown in the greenhouse, 6 Gardeners delight, 3 Alicante, and 1 Golden Sunrise, which has cropped well, but we are not impressed with the flavour or texture, won't be growing it again. Will be making tomato chutney shortly.
Have a nice day whatever you are doing, be back later
My brother has lived in Cornwall for 18 years - will check if he has his passport when I see him!
Flo I know exactly what you mean about the autumnal smell in the air - can smell it early in the morning but I didn't detect it this morning when I went to let the chickens out. Nice day here at the moment.
Reading all this talk of doughnuts and coconut and cherry cakes is making me hungry.....
Am back from the shopping-washing now on line and the cleaning has started
Strangely enough there were no cakes in any shops-I did cross examine assistants apparently someone with a little girl in tow in jim-jams carrying strawberries and carrots, snaffled the whole late last night

Flo - I have a doggie bag breakfast going free! Getting bored of them already!
Kate - My gardening buddy is back from his tour of the States, so the plot left in safe hand's!
Was out n about yesterday on the wagons! Am pleased to say, every greenhouse in this neck of the wood's is just like mine! Not a red tomato in site!
Yippeee! I am not a failure!
Never had tomatoes for Christmas Dinner! This year could be a first!
Morning gang and all miscreants

It is a glorious sunny day here, I am still optimistic.
