  • Off for a quick rummage in Asda now, on my way home. Might need some sausages to go with those courgettes and beans.

Becks, that's dreadful. You feel like you've wasted a day . Having a quick peek now and then but was really worried about damage . All turned out well in the end. The couple at the back have just been round - they are really pleased. They said that that was going to be their next task so we have saved them a job and also offered to go sharies which was nice . Not seen the other couple so hope they are also pleased.

Lottie . thanks for reminding me - I've got some sausages lurking in fridge somewhere . Hope they're in date .

A man has just knocked on the door offering us loft insulation, wearing a nice hi-viz vest saying surveyor. OH nicely pointed out that he was a little dim to be knocking on the doors of new buildsimage

I cooked fish cakes, potatoes and peas, it was very disappointingimage

Becks, don't Asda have a scheme whereby they could text or phone you when they're on the way or half an hour off or something? I've had deliveries - from Comet I think - where they did that. It's such a pain having to stay inside the house!

Jean, such a relief for you now the fence is done. When I had one recently, the chickens had already trashed the area so Simon and his pole-thumping machine made no difference.

I had a mad moment this afternoon and nipped into a paving/patio/driveway place. Just to look, you understand ;- )  I came away with a contact number and thoughts of this and that....

Geoff, surely the team you mention has won no matches because for the last three months it has been the blessed time of year when we are footie-free and therefore they haven't played any!!

Flo very well spotted, you have been awarded a toffee apple.

Becks did you know it was an all day wait? Tescos offer 2 hour slots but send a text to narrow it down to an hour.

Flo-you may well be right-but doesn't alter the fact that they have nil points and didnt get the round bouncy thing into the woodenny nettedthingy past the bloke in the rather jazzy jumper

Oooh, thanks, Kate :- ) It's years since I had one of those.

My internet is creeping along at a snail's pace just now. I'm throwing in the towel and going to find that toffee apple.

Well, Geoff, at least they've got grownups playing and don't have to field a team of babes in arms like poor old Pompey.

Evening all, drove home through torrential rain, water flooding off the hills and running right over the roads bringing stones down with it. All the road mending they did after the last lot now needs doing again. Water coming out of the pavement. Idiot drivers speeding through all the water? Can see some blue sky now though. Plants battered.

Turkey breast retrieved from freezer and lovingly cooked by OH with Phil Vickery method, Christmas dinner in August but without the sprouts.

Kate, yes, it was an all day slot between 10-6pm I booked, so they have done nothing wrong, but have been using them weekly for years, and they've never come later than 12pm. Guess I've just been spoilt. Was just annoying as I had stuff to do. The two hour slots cost more, and I'm a right miser when it comes to things like that! image
