Geoff when I was house hunting you quickly look at a few to get an eye for what you get for your money but you then go back for a second longer look, these are the ones you need to worry about.
It is hard to keep a constant watch without be targeted as the nosy neighbour-they did not seem that excited or stand outside looking wistfully-but that could be the bluff game.
All you young things dancing around the garden with ribbons is a strange image
Am cross! as much with myself as anything. On Saturday I noticed that my viola & Evening primrose seedlings were well up & knew needed to prick out asap. Had busy w/end doing other things & so nothing got done. Just been down to check & NONE left!! Despite slug pellets too. Ok I accept that Digitalis seedlings are caviar & since they were old seed packets they being systematically munched was no surprise nor a big loss. The vilolas were from Tatton show so that's really annoying.
So just sown more seeds & this time straight into the kept open coldframe, which so far has remained slug/snail free. Grr!
Also not a sausage of the seeds sown direct into the veg bed- they've all been munched too! J.
