Where is Russia in all this -they were a major force-I now it was USSR-but Russia seems to hardly get a mention
A gold medal for the first one to tell someone how old they are,to pretend not to understand all this modern stuff, and to drive with a tartan blanket on the back seat
Kate, I'm not up on the Olympic rules but I always thought they had to be amateurs. So don't understand how the footballers and tennis players compete.
If we can't get a football team ready for the next lympics perhaps Geoff could represent us in golf if that becomes a lympic sport.
It has all changed most of the top athletes are full time and don't have day jobs-the lines have become blurred, there are sponsors to ensure they don't starve but there is no prize money -that is the unique thing
Footballers have an age restriction-only so many over 23??
I claim gold for Mr Bear. He has had a tartan blanket on the back seat ever since I have known him.
Gary, glad to hear you've been topping up on Weetabix. I cooked a perfect poached egg this morning and had extra toast so hope that will help towards our next couple of golds.
Diamond Oplmpics: I've forgotten what it was now. {:- o
Thanks Geoff. I understand they need sponsorship. It's amazing how far athletes have come when they can devote all their time to training and don't have to worry about earning a living.
Didn't realise only so many footballers on a team to be over 23. Seriously worried now about our ambitions to field a team for next games.

The rain has arrived-the end of my outdoor activities for the day-not that I had any planned anyway
There are men swimming in the Serpentine-they would appear to be going through the motions
