Bolt's performance didn't last for long, It was all over in seconds. But I was impressed. I really didn't think he'd do it. Glad the weather held too.

Laura Robson is coming up on BBC Breakfast soon...

Geoff - I didn't take that photo , just pinched it off the web, but that was us last night. We drove home through 2 big storms - one near Leeds , one near Manchester and when we got home another one here ! The garden is like  bog this morning, rain last night unbelievable .

Speaking of lightning if you blinked you would have missed Bolts race - didn't realise it would be over that quick.

Well that was a brilliant interview with Laura Robson. She was asked how much she'd learned from Andy - 'not much' - and how much practice they'd done - 'we hadn't done any'.

Am unable to find 'sweetheart' smiley.

  • i have to admit the bits i have enjoyed watching are the rowing, swimming and cycling.. and we have been soing very well in the last few days.. the whole country is enjoying the sports and the atmosphere of it all.. only let down was on the horse bar thingy(cant remember what it is called) yesterday.. we got silver and bronze.. but think our silver should have been a gold as the winners legs touched the horse twice during his performance where as ours didnt..

@gary.. yeah and they got silver.. just think if htey had done more practice they would have made it a gold.. strange how andy beats rodger now and not at wimbledon.. more pressure maybe..dunno.

these amazing atheletes have broken loads of records and are giving their all.. all of them it is so uplifting to watch such determination and dedication as many of them are rather young.

Blue skies here today but for how long?

After all the excitement of yesterdays Olympics I popped outside for a slug run last night, there were so many snails sat brazenly eating my plants, may they rest in peace.

I like the rowing and cycling, it's not just because we're good at it. I used to watch Tour de France, even in the days when we were rubbish, which was only a few years ago.

I saw some of the sailing yesterday, including Ben coming home, that's actually quite good - but a bit late to start watching now. I saw some fencing, a couple of days ago, wish I understood the rules, and that we had better representation.

When the Beijing Olympics ended I can remember that the last program was shown on the Sunday night, and there was no follow up. I'd been expecting some replays. There was a real vacuum.

So best make the most of this week's telly.

Geoff, I lecture in marketing at Huddersfield University and yes I love it. Teach some sports marketing so watching as much of the Olympics as I can. In for A level results next week.

Teach customer experience too, so all stories welcome! Rubbish service at Little Chef on the way home yesterday, they forgot to bring my toasted tea cake!

Morning all. Waiting for floor-layer-person/s to come and do duty in my conservatory. 10.00am I was told, they're late! I could have been watching Lympic Brekkie prog instead of hoovering :- (

I think the only realistic gold chance today is in the velodrome. Only one medal on offer there today, it's not a certainty, but we've got a good chance. About 5.45pm.
