Dean I think that you need some cotton and a needle
Geoff I did some canoeing once, my sister and I raced against my other sister and BIL, we won because my little sister followed instructions but BIL did his own thing
Thanks everyone for your concern.Well what a night we've had my other half ended up going to Skye which was a 260mile return journey straight from being to Wick, for a footie match, which is not far off the top of Scotland 220miles return journey!! I had to pick up our other son from Inverness which was a 30mile journeyfor me at 1am.. We all got to bed at 3am. But as we all said at least we were all home safe. Both cars are write offs so how lucky were they!! I was just saying to my OH about these lessons in life the boys are learning Id wish they stop them. Id say its us that comes off worse, what a worry they are
Kate- the Sept delivery is because of new stock arrival/change of catalogue. It's still going to be a 'current' article- phew. So us having paid a greatly reduced price cf full/new price for same thing is good enough for me. As long as same colour..... Apparently Belfast has 1, but delivery/collection from there not really an option for either party.
Weather better here now, so dress from yesterday is on washing line & also the winter scarves/hats! Have been down to greenhouse & watered in there, but no actual pottering done, nor planned for today. J.
Back in now - cherrytree decimated but think it'll be better for it next year . No wound seal left so hope it'll be ok . Took me 2 hours to do all houseplants - all different feeds , deadheading flowering ones and generally sprucing them up . Labour of love though.
Geoff , I also grew one of THOSE plants years ago - purely for interest . I haven't got a rubberplant. Had a cheese plant years ago but gave it away. It grew too big.
Gary meant to says thanks for links ( am still investigating Birch/ snowball bush.)
Kate I haven't checked any lottery yet so may be able to help you out. There are 65 unclaimed tickets. Maybe, just maybe ..... Hello to everyone else and bad news - the jet-stream is back so we all know what that means. Snorkels at the ready !!!!
Jo I hope that it all works out ok, I did this once and nothing turned up and mine had been sold to someone else and there was no more in stock, I was fuming.
Anyone enlighten me with the rule of how many leaves on a rose, a friend of mine bought a David Austin shrub rose but is concerned it has 7. She doesnt think thats right. I really dont know or am particularly bothered as long as it flowers which it has.
Team work on bikes (explanation for Geoff) - 80% of the work powering a bike at speed goes into pushing the air away. So it saves a lot of energy if the cyclists can slipstream behind another cyclist. So in a team, the 'weaker' members can go in front, enabling the stronger members to save energy, for the latter stages. As the race progresses, the ones at the front can drop out when their work is done. So Cav, typically, stays at the back of the train, until the last 100 meters, when he is 'fresh' for the final sprint. Well that's what should happen in theory.
