Just watched 'Sleeping With The Enemy'. I like Julia Roberts. Good actress. I won't be viewing any olympic activities. Totally hate sports. Now looking for another film to watch.
I think Danny Boyle did a brilliant job with last night's show.
Best moments were the Daniel Craig segment; and the final run in by Becks (David) along the Thames, upto the moment the flame eventurally rose. Really liked Kenneth Branagh's performance too. The Doves of Peace thing was quite surreal and hypnotic.
Plus, throughout, the vivid colours and the drumming, and all the athletes' gleeful faces.
Worse bit - Huw Edwards' inane and unnecessary commentary.
Overall brillant show.
Now - big decisions ahead - do I go outside and do some gardening, or spend the day channel hopping - beach volleyball, and/or Cav going for gold.
The show was fantastique-switched to the no commentary option-those voices really grate-all that stuff from Hazel's Olympic book of statistics and some inane questions- did it for me-much better without and I stayed up till the end
That was totally barmy, I enjoyed the first bit but turned over for the athletes parade and turned back for the GB team and the torch. We are 18 miles away and could hear the fireworks and see the smoke.
It was one of those events that at times got a bit too arty and Kenneth Branagh is a bit of a ham-but I still thought it was great-those in the stadium must have loved it
Ladies beach volleyball is proving to be a tad uninteresting.
Switched over to ladies indoor vollyball, also showing. Strange that the indoor game is played wearing shirts and shorts, but bikinis seem to be compulsory for outdoors. Seems it should be other way round.
Anyway have switched over again to watch Cav and Team GB strive for our first Gold.
Charles and Camillla on the starting line giving best wishes to Brad and the boys.

Someone told me they had 1000 drummers on last night but missed that as well. I shall be in charge of the remote today.

Gary when are we due our first medal?
Geoff as they say a once in a lifetime experience, I thought that some of the volunteers looked very professional.
The cycle race takes about 6 and a half hours.
Yes, this is the one to watch. Great scenes of huge crowds along The Mall.
Thanks Gary I will do some gardening then pop in to watch him win.
