Good morning I've been up and noodling on here for a while - OH has to be at work by 7 this morning so I've made him a cuppa and let him have the bathroom first. I suppose it'll be like this in the mornings when I retire .... him in the bathroom first - it;s usually me ... have I mentioned I'm retiring??? ....
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
+4 in the greenhouse this morning. Not exactly balmy, but no frost.
Watched an interesting TV program last night about Creativity (Horizon). The best way to optimize the brain to solve complex problems is to perform a simple manual job that doesn't require much thinking. That distracts the brain, allowing complex problems to be solved in the unconscious. Mowing the lawn and 'gardening' were recommended.
Morning all. Last day at saltmines. Slept like a log last night. First time for ages. Strong painkillers from drs worked. Only woken by annoying hand at 630. Which is a result for me.
Must admit doing garden is therapeutic. Looking forward to the end result is only part of it. Meditation, same sort of thing, is supposed to make you 90 per cent more creative. Can't really put your finger on why it works, but it does
Morning GlynBrumbullDoveGarySue - I thought I might be second to arrive this morning! Have a morning's supply in year 3, seemed like a good idea a week and a half ago when I agreed Still nice to catch up with ex-colleagues if they're not too busy to chat!!
Agrre that doing the garden, esp. repetitive jobs like weeding, is a great time out for the mind.
