It's a lovely day here and feels quite warm as there's no wind. I've been moving some old railway sleepers onto the veg garden to make a raised bed. Really heavy but managed with the wheelbarrow. I know, I know, preservative, but they are really old and I made a small bed with some last year in front of the oil tank and grew cosmos and now miniature daffs and they are fine.
All my corbaeas have germinated so I hope they will flower with an early start.
Too cream crackered to help with logs, sorry, after lugging sleepers about.
I'm giving the poor shredder a wee break. I have to be careful as it was me who knackered the last 2. It's seems less robust than the previous, but better overall. However it's creaking & groaning, bit like me really , so am brewing a fruit tea before I start again. 2 big bags full for compost bins already. J.
Back from drs. Appointment made for Thursday morning for cortisone injection into wrist. Just had fish and chips for lunch. Off to work in a minute. Finish at 930pm. Too late to eat a big meal then. Second to last day at saltmines. Hope weekend weather is ok?
Just had a look round the estate and greenhouse, things are looking OK. sown some anntirhinums and potted up lily bulbs. Still ice on the pond but it's warm in the sun.
Really pleased to see some hardy geraniums, Splish Splash, that were seedlings last year are looking well and should be alright to go out into garden this year, kept them in cold frame over winter..
This sunshine makes you feel a lot better
Now for lunch, cheese and onion sandwich, small piece of pork pie that needs eating up and coleslaw, then the dreaded food shop, argh, but it has to be done.
Everyone's been busy I see . Haven't been outside as by the time the frost went, the rain came. Sort of glad in a way - rainwater supplies are severely depleted now but hope it goes tomorrow.
Geoff- my seed box is nothing to do with a jock-box ! Just a big tin box where I keep my seeds . I also keep my dibber in there. Glad to see you're safe and sound from the roof.
I think most of the bank people need shredding including all the ones that pay themselves big fat bonuses.
