Goodnight, all--I'm off to tend my bonfire again--will probably burn til tomorrow, when the rain will put it out. Perfect day for it-cloudy, no wind, and the neighbours away. It's a big'un!
It was a misty day here yesterday. Everything was damp, as though rain had been falling. It's slightly better this morning, but not much.
From Google News this morning - an article in a US newspaper about the increasing number of people who want a garden, but don't want to do any gardening. They want plants that require little pruning, minimal irrigation, no pest-control treatment and no protection during freezes. The article provides lists of plants suitable for US gardens... http://www.theledger.com/article/20121115/COLUMNISTS0403/211155000

Some comments about the Apprentice coming up. This is not a spoiler, rather general remarks about last night's program....
This week's task was supposed to be about bargaining, and driving down costs. Some of the candidates tried to that. Some were more successful than others. In the Boardroom, Lord Sugar had a difficult choice to make. But I didn't hear him make any mention of how well any of those candiates had performed at bargaining.
The treat for the winning team was one of the best treats I've ever seen. They were invited to visit Hamleys Toyshop, and pick their own pressies. Radio controlled helicopters seemed popular.
