Watching Ascot , need my fashion fix, I like a nice dress. What is wrong on the news?

Doctors strike-3 reporters scattered throughout the country to state that it had little effect-basically like weekends and bank-holidays-not sure what the news gurus were expecting.

See- I got confused with UP-need green tea now.

You asked if anyone had a good fox story?

I am sure that you would have been annoyed if your appointment had been moved, someone will turn up soon with a sad story about the strike.

But just how many more will come out of the woodwork, I would expect my financial advisor to reduce my tax bilimage

It affected 10% apparently -they are still in surgeries treating emergency cases,A&E is still open and all appointments would not have been scheduled.

I must be having a slow day today or is being fick.

Hi from a 'not raining in Manchester at the mo'!

Have been out to lunch with a friend & the weather was rotten driving back home. But as we got nearer I realised that the roads around home were dry! Ok didnt last, but not been as heavy here as others I think.

Trying to find a new stool for breakfast bar in kitchen. One at Ikea is a possibility, but tesco have 2 for less £ & it'd match our existing one better. It was my Nan's I think & is solid wood & really nice. Whenever I get one I shall take the old step-down stool, circa 1970s & wobbly, to the tip to stop OH using it as steps! It's just not safe. Daft thing is also tucked under bar is a very solid fold-up set of steps that I need to get into top cupboards- not a wobble from them at all.

Have my next session of home- drug tomorrow morning. Oh well only another 7 to go! J.

I remember those old step stools, great fun when you bashed your ankles.

I will go to Cornwall when the wind blows me or if I am invitedimage

The sun is out here, see I can cope if we get a little sunshine everyday.

Sitting in the conservatory watching sparrows flapping like mad and going nowhere.  It is sooooo windy.  This time yesterday evening I was sitting in the garden.

BTW - There will be one minute less of daylight tomorrow than there was today. image

I think somebody has ideas above their station - peacocks eating all the basil???  Everything in my garden is getting eaten by slugs and snails.

Well, we may have escaped the worst weather here today. Not tomorrow by the latest local forecast! Oh well, wonder if the remaining bean plants will survive a slimey attack with all this wet weather? & as for the sweetpeas........!

About half of my dahlia plants, in the borders have been 'got'. Wonder why some & not others close by? That's why my 'choice' ones get grown in pots- but even one of those has been attacked a bit. Moving it to another part of the patio usually helps them regrow new leaves etc- as if the slimey 'b's dont go that way!

Have sourced quite a choice of 'bar' stools, ranging in price from £25-£59. Tesco do 'a pack of 2', but I dont want 2! Wish Ikea had in store the one they've got on-line, it's almost an exact match, style-wise, to our decent (Nan's) one. Decisions, decisions- somehow I can see me not bothering & just keep reminding OH not to use the old set of steps as steps, just as a stool. J.
